Full Truckload Transport from Kenya to South Sudan

One vehicle, one consignment, one schedule. Full truckload is priced per truck rather than per kilogram, which changes the arithmetic completely once you have the volume.

When FTL beats groupage

Groupage charges you for the space you use. FTL charges you for the vehicle. The crossover comes earlier than most shippers expect, because a per kilogram rate on a large consignment adds up quickly.

Take a full truck when:

  • You have enough weight or volume to fill most of a vehicle
  • You don't want your cargo loaded alongside anyone else's
  • You need the departure date under your own control rather than waiting for a load to build
  • The cargo is sensitive, high value, or awkward to handle more than once
  • A single consignee is receiving everything, so there is one offloading point and one entry

Take groupage when your consignment is a part load:

Vehicle types

The published table lists the vehicle configurations we rate. In broad terms:

  • Rigid trucks for smaller full loads and for delivery points that cannot take a trailer
  • Trailers for the bulk of commercial FTL work on this corridor
  • Flatbeds and high sided trailers for machinery, steel, timber and cargo that won't go into a closed box
  • Lowbeds for plant and abnormal loads, quoted per shipment

Always give us the actual gross weight and the largest piece dimensions. Axle load limits are enforced in Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan, and a truck stopped for overloading costs far more than the correct vehicle would have.

What an FTL rate does and does not cover

FTL is priced per vehicle for the agreed route, with a free period for loading and offloading. Outside the rate, unless the table says otherwise:

  • Waiting time beyond the free period at either end
  • Customs duties and taxes in South Sudan
  • Customs brokerage, where shown as excluded
  • Escorts, special permits or abnormal load clearances
  • Return loads. Rates are one way unless we agree otherwise.

Documents

An FTL moves under the same documentary requirements as any other consignment on the lane. One truck, one consignee and one entry usually makes clearance simpler rather than harder, provided the paperwork matches the load exactly.
